"It was a great week; it shows how far the program has come when you finish second and are disappointed," head coach Stew Burke said. "We are proud of how the girls performed and we are especially proud of Carla for coming from behind to win."  Bernat finished 2-over in the tournament to take the individual title, becoming the first Tulane player to win the title. A three-over-par round of 75 by Nicole Neale highlighted Cal Poly's performance in the opening round of the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein on Sunday at the English Turn Golf and Country Club. On a course formerly used by the PGA Tour, Neale carded a pair of birdies, 11 pars and five bogeys over the 6,268-yard, par-72 layout, placing her in a tie for sixth place with five other golfers. Vanessa Wang and Carissa Wu both recorded 80s and were tied for 47th place while Kamille Dimayuga and Jensen Jalufka checked in with 82s and are tied for 60th place. The Southern Miss women's golf team was tied for third place after the opening day of the Tulane Classic Presented by Chad Brownstein. Elena Melich led all Golden Eagles with her fifth-place finish after the first 18 holes. Melich carded a two-over par 74, while Alma Betoret finished with a four-over 76.  Merche Corbacho was the only other Southern Miss golfer to shoot sub-80, finishing with a five-over 79. Fernanda Gorostiaga and Momoka Ando rounded out the team score with an 80 and 81, respectively. Taylor Trible, playing as a individual, shot an eight-over 80. Betoret and Corbacho both drained a team-high three birdies over the first round. On the second day of the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein, the Central Arkansas women's golf team was in sixth place, after shaving 11 strokes off of the first day's score. Valeria Ramirez continued her impressive play, maintaining her top-10 status with a 5-over 77. Through 36 holes, the freshman was in seventh place, leading the team. Starting out one under after six holes, Madison Holmes looked poised to make a move up the standings, but slid just a little bit into 16th, shooting par on 14 of the 18 holes on day two. The Chattanooga Mocs moved on moving day at the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein. On the first day of the tournament, the Mocs took the team up to 12th at 625. That was six strokes behind 10th-place duo Boston College and Cal Poly, while sitting two better than Arkansas State and Howard in a tie for 13th.  Dorota Zalewska had the low round bouncing back big from an uncharacteristic opening 85 with 4-under 68. That performance carried her 57 spots up the leaderboard into the top 25 tied for 24th. On day two, the Green Wave moved into second place of the Tulane Classic Presented by Chad Brownstein. Shooting 3-over on the day, the team was 16 shots back from the Purdue lead. Carla Bernat had the best card of the day for Tulane shooting 1-under in the round. Bernat was tied for 5th at 3-over in the tournament as it moved into the final round.  Miriam Emmert wasn't far behind, having gone 1-over on the day and putting herself in a six-way tie for second place. Matilde Innocenti also shot 1-over in the second round; she was then tied for 16th. The University of Memphis women's golf team tied for seventh place in the 18-team competition at the Tulane Classic Presented by Chad Brownstein on Tuesday with a score of 927 (+63). No. 47-ranked Purdue won the tournament, played at the English Turn & Country Club with a total of 897 (+33). Some of the highlights from the University of Memphis women golfers include Junior Rebecca Brink, who led the Tigers' effort at the tournament, placing in a tie for 25th place with a score of 230 (+14). Brink carded rounds of 76-78-76 over the course of three days. Sophomore Katie Stinchcomb tied for 35th with a total of 233 (+17), while senior Victoria England tied for 42nd with a score of 235 (+19). Elena Melich led the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, who played at the English Turn Golf & Country Club and placed fourth on the individual leaderboard. Momoka Ando and Taylor Trible led the birdie train on day two with four each. Both birdied their second hole of the day, while both also had a stretch of two birdies in three holes. Melich birdied three holes, including two on the front nine to shirt an even-par 72.
