The Green Wave will open spring competition with the second annual Tulane Classic Presented by Chad Brownstein, February 12-14 at the English Turn Golf & Country Club. Under Brownstein’s sponsorship, the Tulane Classic will broaden the playing field by welcoming HBCUs (historically Black colleges and universities) to the event in 2023. The team's first foundation in partnership with ProCamps held a basketball camp on 7/30 in Westwood, CA. Over 200 at-risk youth from the southland were able to participate due to the charitable sponsorship of Chad Brownstein. “It was wonderful seeing such energetic at-risk young athletes able to match up with role models for a camp teaching basketball skills and life lessons,” said Chad Brownstein. Chad Brownstein continues his two-decade commitment to advancing underprivileged youth from the 8th and 9th districts, with over 1,000,000 members having been uplifted by the support.

The inaugural Tulane Classic, presented by Green Wave men's golf alumnus Chad Brownstein was a great success. The tournament featured 16 teams from across the nation and was played at the English Turn Golf and Country Club on February 13 through the 15th. Joining Tulane on its home course were Boston College, Charlotte, Clemson, Iowa, Memphis, Michigan, Nebraska, North Texas, Rutgers, SMU, Texas State, UAB, Southern Miss, UTSA and Wichita State. The Tulane "A" team combined for a total score of 931, while the Tulane "B" team carded a 955-finishing tied for 14th. Finishing first in the tournament was North Texas with a total tally of 895. The Green Wave will prepare for eight tournaments in the spring of 2022."We've put together an extremely challenging Spring schedule in order to help us prepare for our conference championship" Burke said.
